  11. Thank you for the excellent job you do of teaching bass! And the fact that you've made music theory make sense to me is a miracle - i've bought books and attended lessons on this dry but extremely important subject without gaining much at all, but your single (free) video lesson on this finally opened it all up for me. You made 'theory' make practical sense. Thank you! If this is what you teach for free, I'm definitely buying your premium lessons. You're the best!

  23. can you please do a bass lesson on Holy Wars by Megadeth. Its a very fun song i think you will enjoy it and i want to see where you take the song as a bassist.

  24. I'm 16 years old, and I got my bass 6 months ago.. I was pretty happy with it for a month or so till I got bored with it... For the Christmas Holidays I was bored so I picked up my bass and started to watch youtube video lessons... I opened a few tabs and I was bored as hell of all the proffesional players who teach way too fast for me ( or anyone to understand) and the last tab was your video luckily... Your teaching is easy to understand and you're a pretty nice guy yourself... :D You have made the bass guitar interesting for me once again, I am now practicing 2-4 hours per day, and know over 20 songs, from beginning to the end :D. Thank you Dman

  25. Iv been playing electric guitar for about a year now. I just got a bass for christmas. Iv been playing it like 3 days now and i can play it very well. Noone teaches as clear and smooth as you. Your lessons are very easy to understand. Keep up the good work Dman

I loved bass from back in the early 80's with the likes of mark king, all ways wanted to have a go, now in my mid 40's and browsings the web and youtube came across DMAM vids and web page, this guy inspired me and with the down to earth leasons , i just had to get my first bass and have ago, 1 week later been praticing and now have the bug,and all ready got my eys on a ibanez SR300, :0) damn you im hooked ,, keep up the gret work ant the premium leasons are great.

well done dude and have a great xmass as i know i will now that im playing the bass at long last.

    cheers :0)

  29. I've been teaching for over twenty years now, and playing in a well known jazz band for over thirty. My son recommended I tried to teach online, so I had a look at what other teachers had to offer. Time and time again i've run into videos and sites that are lacking in communication and knowledge. However "Dman" has something here that should not be missed. I've never seen anyone teach in such a way. I will be pushing my students towards this site, because to be honest it is a breath of fresh air. God bless - JE.

  30. Dman is the man.

Website is full of excellent, practical and more importantly, musical advice that everyone can use.

  31. great job these lessons are easy to fallow and i pick them up fast every thing is broken down to a simple format and what paid content there is is really cheap and well worth it

  32. Just wanted to say a BIG Thank You for this site I have just had a bass bought me to help my partner who plays guitar, i'm getting on a bit now (37) never thought I would be able to pick it up but I have achieved a couple of your practice riffs and I'm amazed can't wait to learn more.

too bad the 'pretty little ditty' lessons aren't working though, i was really looking forward to that :(

maybe you can fix it? :D

    like, you're awesome.

  46. Just dropping by to say how amazing the lessons are, ive taken around 1 every 2 days, and doing my best to master the techniques shown by his videos, and I keep on practicing each day from the basics to the more intermediate stuff, until I understood how to mix it up and start learning my own techniques, and I still come back to learn more and to review certain lessons, and I have been playing for a good year and a half.

i got to say, his lessons saved me from stopping, now i got myself a gig, and learned plenty of my own techniques using the techniques given by his lessons.

For those who want to learn and get better, just keep on practicing each day everything you learned from the lessons, and in time you will see yourself saying “just a month ago I had trouble doing this, now I can do it as if it were second nature”

keep up the amazing work D-man, if I can learn from your lessons anyone can.

  47. dude u rellli are a selfless guy, i got my bass bout week ago and ure da only person who teaches bass perfectly, i mean ur an amazing bass player and u dont charge for your website videos, and uvee truly inspired me to carry on learning bass soo for dat ii thank u :D

    Best regards dude!

  66. I've searched the internet up and down for lessons. I paid over 100 dollars for DVD's that were confusing and badly made. THESE lessons by THIS man are by far the best you will get on the net today. Trust me-I know!

  67. dude you are badass. i've just been watching your videos on youtube and they've convinced me to give bass a shot. there are so many tutorial videos by random american country folk in their 60s who are no doubt good at what they do, but i find the lessons are far more effective when the teachers is on the same level as the student, that's what makes you stand out and that's why i'm coming back here as soon as my bass arrives!

  68. Spent about two hours replaying your vids lastnight and it was f*#ckin awsome...home from work now and the first thing I do is start watching and playing gain. You've got a gift with this teaching business cuzzy...keep it up and i'll never stop watching and learning.Cheers!

  69. You such a legend!

    Shot bru!

  83. Thanks Dman. You have to be one of my biggest inspirations. You are truely awesome. Keep playing man and keep teaching.

    Thanks - TheLampMan (James)(Australia)t

  84. To describe Dman in just one word is impossible. But with one sentence, it is doable. I'm just gonna go ahead and say, I have had manyh teachers for many different subjects in my life. Dman, has been the best one I have ever had, and I haven't even met him face to face! It is really awesome to see an instructor so willing to teach his students. And not just willing, having fun while he's doing it. All though, I do feel bad for him, because he has so many students but he doesn't get to see the majority of them progress. Thanks for all the hard work dman!

  85. Top stuff. I travelled for a couple of years, meeting lots and lots of guitarists who I thought were high quality. However not many could teach or get across their knowledge and I think you do that very well. I'm swapping my guitar for a bass ASAP!

  86. I like your tutorials, I just got my bass yesterday and was wondering if I had to do streches and looked on you page when learning how to finger walk and now I now. Thanks man

  87. Thank you for teaching as, and GOD Bless you and your family

  93. "i think ur videos have helped me more than any others....some ppl dont know how to respect and appreciate good bass players like you....thanks for ur help...

  94. "Honestly,I am a huge fan. As cheesy as that may sound. HahaI wish I had an accent as well. :( ahaStay funky!

  95. " just started playing the bass about a month ago, but your videos have probably been the biggest help when it came to me practicing out the slap and pop. Oh, and the hand excercises were exactly what I was looking for :)

I love these videos of yours, they keep me going when things get too hard. Keep it up -Mecrac"

  96. "Wow you are by far the most helpful bass teacher i've ever seen, infact you explain things so wonderfully, these exercises really helped me a lot, if anything they allow my fingers to move much faster. -Masterdonmaniac"

  97. "hey, you're just such a legend champ! i'm already 23 and i just started to learn bass guitar but i got little background in playing acoustic guitar but i sucks.. :( do u think i'm too old to learn it? can u please give me few tips that could help me and inspire me. my email add is *********** thanks you so much and thanks for your free lessons here at youtube, we really appreciate it so much! peace out-Samaslub"

Some peeps have asked me how I make this site. Well, I use a bit of web software called moonfruit. You can get there by using the link below. It's by far the most easiest way of creating sites on the net today in my opinion. It just uses a simple drag and drop interface, and has a lot of power behind its simplicity.
