My Bass Notepad

Welcome to my bass notepad! Here, you can check out bass-lines I have been writing, as well as bass only tunes, and other...

Brothers of the Green wood:

This song is actually a line from one of my bands. I thought i'd do a bass only version of it. I then played with the audio settings on my mac, which gave me that cool squeeky voice!

A bit more of a "professional" sound here. I wanted to write something with a jazzy feel, and this is the result! People in the video are friends of mine...

Something met@l:

Irish Blood:

I love all types of music, and have always liked heavy music. This is a bass only track, that seems to have gained a cult following by itself! It's much appreciated by people that enjoy heavier musics.

I was playing with some odd tunings when I wrote this one. The lyrics were inspired by my Nan, who was telling me about her musical roots in Ireland.

Snow:

Don't Move!:

I had been playing with this riff for a while, but didn't know what to do with it. One day it started snowing, so I played right there, and just made up a random ending on the spot!

This was the first song I recorded onto youtube! That is why the sound is so bad, as I didn't have great equipment. It is still popular, though, and I am quite fond of it. I was saying "Don't move", because the camera was moving!

Cold Path:

Sunshine:

Another early tune here. Short and sweet. About having to get out of a place I disliked. I may turn this into something more substantial in the near future.

I wrote this song in the fields you can see in the pictures i took. Nice and mellow song, that reminds me of summery times...

Day of the Goat:

Down here:

Another song that needs to be turned into something "real". It's raw, and again, an early video, but I liked it enough to keep it on youtube!

Something with some quick slap and pop in it. I teach how to play this style in my video "Red hot Slap and pop:

Something Met@l 2:

The cosmic Sprout:

And here we have the "sequel" to the above video! Slightly different way of approaching this one. I "hit" the strings, with a bit of metal, to get that weird metallic slide type of sound.

Sometimes when I have lots of ideas, I just turn the camera on for a while, and watch back to see if there are any ideas I can create anything from. This is just something random in that jam that I picked out. I then decided to turn myself green. Like a sprout.
